Visit to Pitchford Hall by coach plus guided tour of this half timbered 16th century Shropshire House and garden. Leave Ludlow at 1pm.
Visit by coach to Worcester’s historic city centre including the cathedral, as guests of the Worcester Civic Society. Leave Ludlow at 11am.
Dr Sylvia Pinches
Author, historian and lecturer. “The Almshouses of Shropshire and Herefordshire: a social and architectural history”.
Heritage consultant and practitioner, formerly head of Conservation and Archaeology for Shropshire Council. “The Post-war Renaissance of Ludlow: Building conservation and planning at the turn of the Millennium.”
Emeritus professor of Poetry and Art at Manchester Metropolitan University, a painter, poet and art historian. “Paintings in the context of the Picturesque.”
Senior Specialist at Christie’s on British Impressionism, Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite painting. “British Impressionism, the influence of French painting on British art.”
Trustee and vice-chair of the Georgian Group. “Shropshire and the Borders. Cradle of the Georgian Picturesque.”
